Essential Functions | | | Priority | % Time | • | Delivers high-quality, high-volume spay-neuter surgery and other surgical procedures, including pre-surgical exams, veterinary surgery, recovery, documentation of surgical procedure and follow up as needed. Ensures surgical equipment is maintained and inspected as required. Develops anesthetic protocols. | 1 | 60% | • | Performs clinical veterinary care for shelter animals, including emergency care, on-call telephone support for after hours emergencies, treatment plans and follow-up. | 2 | 20% | • | Creates and oversees workflow and required tasks of direct reports. Manages all hiring, onboarding activities, employee development, performance and timesheet approvals. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities | • | Knowledge of the information and techniques needed to diagnose and treat shelter animals. This includes symptoms, medical and surgical treatmnt options, drug choices and preventive healthcare measures typically found in an animal shelter setting.
