Primary Purpose

Coordinates environmental education and outreach activities for the Wake County Solid Waste Management Division. Develops and implements outreach activities for waste reduction, recycling and solid waste management; exhibits at community events; conducts tours, educational presentations and workshops; uses media tools to communicate topics and issues; evaluates outreach efforts for efficiency and effectiveness. Maintains a high degree of organization and quality work under deadline pressures.

Position(s) may perform other duties in addition to the above as assigned by management.

 

*IMPORTANT* In the event of an emergency, as determined by the County Manager or designee, participation in preparedness and response operations should be expected. Employee may be required to fill a temporary assignment in a role different from standard duties, work hours and/or work location in preparation for, during and after the emergency. Employee may also be required to participate in relevant exercises and regular preparedness training.
