Essential Functions | | | Priority | % Time | • | Performs intake exams and administers preventative healthcare, as needed, to all animals coming into the animal center. Determines pathway placement for all incoming animals. Reviews provided documentation regarding ownership, medical history or turnover. Contacts and communicates with possible owners of stray animals. Ensures all findings are accurately documented within the shelter data management program. | 1 | 60% | • | Ensures the accuracy of animal euthanasia. Reviews hold times and reassesses animal placement. Performs humane animal euthanasia when necessary. | 2 | 10% | • | Performs animal husbandry responsibilities, participates in behavior evaluations and enrichment. Cleans and maintains kennels and animal holding areas to control the spread of disease. | 3 | 15% | • | Provides treatment to sick or injured animals as prescribed by the veterinary team. Observes animals for signs of illness, injury or behavior changes, notifying veterinarians or managers as warranted. Provides preventative healthcare to all shelter animals. | 4 | 15% | | | | | | | |
