Coordinates support for Community Services/PROS (Parks Rec and Open Space) and other County department programs, well inspections and closures, utility locates, and septic/spray field maintenance. | | | | | | | | |
Essential Functions | | | Priority | % Time | • | Manages environmental programs for storm water management. Conducts routine and post event inspections on all county maintained storm water control measures. | 1 | 30% | • | Administers assigned programs to include record and information management, work order management, timesheet processing, and assisting divisional leadership in recruiting and filling vacant positions. Coordinates, leads and inspects the work assignments for a crew of 2-3 employees while delivering program services and complete work order assignments. Provides materials, tools, and safety equipment to employees to complete the assigned tasks. | 2 | 30% | • | Manages environmental programs for underground storage tanks. Conducts monthly maintenance inspections on all county operated underground storage tanks. Conducts annual, bi-annual, and tri-annual tests and inspections as required by NCDEQ. | 3 | 20% | • | Schedules, coordinates, and conducts environmental program projects to include in-house and contracted projects. | 4 | 10% | • | Schedules, coordinates, and conducts environmental compliance equipment service and maintenance. | 5 | 10% | | | | | | | |

Additional Responsibilities | • | Responds to adverse weather events and emergency response operations as required for essential employees. Clears and removes precipitation (snow and ice) and debris from facilities after severe weather. Operates snow removal equipment, plow trucks, spreaders, power brooms, blowers, and other commercial equipment. Applies brine, salt, and deicing compounds. Operates hand held power equipment. Utilizes common hand held tools such as snow shovels, brooms, push spreaders, etc. Installs and recovers barricades, cones, and other safety equipment. Cleans up and restores county properties after damage due to natural events, civil protests, or other unplanned events. | | | |
