Assess and repairs drainage problems and grades stone parking lots and driveways. Transports and operates county vehicles safely and drives heavy duty commercial equipment to job sites. Provides routine and emergency maintenance to flood control structures. Performs construction activities to repair utilities, site structures, grading, debris removal, and other special projects. Works as a member of a Construction Services crew in a highly mobile and active environment. Performs the duties as a team lead if assigned, to coordinate team activities in a safe, efficient, and productive manner. Performs and completes daily routine, corrective and preventative maintenance as well as emergency work orders as assigned. Enters information on work orders including time, materials and field notes on maintenance and repairs into GSA's Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS). | | | | | | | | |
Essential Functions | | | Priority | % Time | • | Maintains hard surfaces at various Wake County facilities. Replaces broken or spalling concrete sidewalks, curbs, gutters, parking stops and brick pavers. Repairs drainage problems, utilities, structures. Grades stone parking lots and driveways. Performs debris removal. Transports heavy duty commercial equipment to job sites. Operates heavy equipment, dump and services trucks and trailers, hand held power equipment as well as other hand held tools. | 1 | 60% | • | Provides routine and emergency maintenance to flood control structures. Operates heavy equipment, dump trucks, commercial service trucks and trailers. Applies pesticides, fertilizers and seed. Operates hand held power equipment and utilizes common hand held tools. | 2 | 20% | • | Performs preventative maintenance on equipment. Follows manufacturer’s guidelines and maintains records. Cleans all equipment to include county trucks and trailers. Notifies supervisor of any damaged or worn equipment. | 3 | 10% | • | Completes administrative duties and attends training as assigned. Records time sheet in Advantage. Records labor hours and material costs in Maximo. Participates in training sessions for safety and other related key skill set areas. Additional Responsibilities | • | Responds to adverse weather events and emergency response operations as required for essential employees. Clears and removes precipitation (snow and ice) and debris from facilities after severe weather. Operates snow removal equipment, plow trucks, spreaders, power brooms, blowers, and other commercial equipment. Applies brine, salt and deicing compounds. Operates hand held power equipment. Utilizes common hand held tools such as snow shovels, brooms, push spreaders, etc. Installs and recovers barricades, cones and other safety equipment. Cleans up and restores county properties after damage due to natural events, civil protests, or other unplanned events. | | | |
