Primary Purpose

Performs administrative and support services to support divisional programs and GSA including: road sign program, interior/exterior sign program, plans review, room number assignments, ADA signage, graphic design, direct charge job quotes, CAD updates for EVAC signage and CAFM database, parking lot layouts, facility inspections, and assist in personnel evaluations. Operates as a team lead by coordinating the work of a 1-3 person crew to accomplish program goals. Coordinates and carries out special projects as assigned using in-house resources or contracted resources. Completes administrative tasks related to work order management, project design and planning, inventory or material and supplies, report generation, and data tracking.

 

Essential Functions

Plans, schedules, and conducts program services for divisional programs. Conducts system audits, prepares reports and manages divisional programs such as road sign program, interior/exterior sign program, plans review, room numbering, ADA signage, and digital signage.

Receives, assigns, and completes work orders within the CMMS database. Plans and supervises work associated with service requests. Inspects work sites for quality control, quality assurance, and completion per project specifications and department standards.

Coordinates and leads the work assignments for a crew of 1-3 employees while delivering program services and completes work order assignments. Provides materials, tools, and safety equipment to employees to complete the assigned tasks.

Completes administrative tasks in support of program services, work order management and special projects. Completes time sheets and material requisitions. Processes invoices and credit card transactions in accordance with departmental requirements and county policy. Generates tracking reports, project estimates, material lists, and other supporting documents and reports as needed. Maintains equipment inventory to include maintenance and service records.

Plans, schedules, and completes special project work to support divisional programs and work order management. Reviews plans and specifications to insure project meets county standards, local ordinances, and applicable codes. Inspects work sites for quality control, quality assurance, and compliance with project specifications. Coordinates work with designers, contractors, and other stake holders.

Additional Responsibilities

•

Responds to adverse weather events and emergency response operations as required for essential employees. Clears and removes precipitation (snow and ice) and debris from facilities after severe weather. Operates snow removal equipment, plow trucks, spreaders, power brooms, blowers, and other commercial equipment. Applies brine, salt, and deicing compounds. Operates hand held power equipment and utilizes common hand held tools such as snow shovels, brooms, push spreaders, etc. Installs and recovers barricades, cones, and other safety equipment. Cleans up and restores county properties after damage due to natural events, civil protests, or other unplanned events.


*IMPORTANT* In the event of an emergency, as determined by the County Manager or designee, participation in preparedness and response operations should be expected. Employee may be required to fill a temporary assignment in a role different from standard duties, work hours and/or work location in preparation for, during and after the emergency. Employee may also be required to participate in relevant exercises and regular preparedness training.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

•

Ability to lead a work crew of 1-3 employees to carryout assigned duties.

•

Ability to operate sign graphics fabrication equipment proficiently.

•

Knowledge of the techniques of sign design, layout, and fabrication.

•

Knowledge and proficiency with sign design applications such as AutoCad, Microsoft Visio, FlexiSign, Photoshop, Omnivex or similar applications.

•

Knowledge of current FHWA, MUTCD and ADA Guidelines pertaining to signage.

•

Ability to comprehend and apply practical and advanced applications of fractions, percentages, ratios proportions and measurements.

•

Ability to enter and analyze data used to populate mandated asset management database.

•

Ability to work in an outdoor environment in extreme heat and cold conditions for extended periods of time.

•

Knowledge of work place safety practices and PPE to conform with OSHA requirements.
