Works independently or with assigned team to complete maintenance or repairs to County vehicles or equipment that includes functional categories of administrative, service, emergency response, EMS and Sheriff vehicles. Performs preventive maintenance and repairs to maximize uptime and reliability of county vehicles. Reports daily activities to the Automotive Specialist, Fleet Maintenance Supervisor, and/or Service and Asset Manager. Enters information into Fleet Management System including time, materials and field notes on maintenance and repairs. Supports the division with various duties as needed including vehicle cleaning, shop maintenance, picking up parts, delivery and pick up of vehicles when service is outsourced. Assists in preparing new vehicle purchases for customer delivery. Assists in preparing surplus vehicles for disposal. | | | | | | | | |

Accomplishes task by utilizing both county issued and required personally owned tools. Operates equipment and tools independently, efficiently and in a safe manner. | 1 | 50% | • | Assists Automotive Senior Technicians with repairs of complex vehicle systems such as engines, transmissions, HVAC, steering, electrical, body and chassis, exhaust, onboard diagnostic and glass. Assists with testing complex electrical systems, emergency equipment and vehicle diagnostic systems. | 2 | 30% | • | Completes administrative duties to record labor hours, material, expenses, and work orders. Maintains records of personnel and team activities. Additional Responsibilities | • | Responds to adverse weather events and emergency response operations as required for essential employees. Cleans up and restores county properties after damage due to natural events, civil protests, or other unplanned events. | | | |
