Primary Purpose

Completes the repair, or replacement of facility finishes and fixtures in Wake County facilities include painting, wall repair, door repair, light bulb replacement and minor renovation work. Performs preventive maintenance to maximize uptime and reliability of building infrastructure. Assists in performing required testing of elevator and other conveying or automated door systems. Completes routine, preventative maintenance as well as emergency work orders as assigned including patching and painting walls, assisting in millwork repair, replacing light bulbs, repairing door closers, and responding to elevator entrapments. Monitors work progress completed by contractors. Enters information on work orders including time, materials and field notes on maintenance and repairs into GSA's Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).

Repairs, replaces, upgrades, and maintains Wake County facility fixtures and finishes include painting, wall repair, door repair, light bulb replacement and minor renovation work.

Completes projects and minor renovations to Wake County facilities including constructing walls, custom millwork, doors, painting, replacing carpet and other finishes.

Tests elevators, operable doors, conveying equipment, other operable devices, and completes preventative maintenance on a regular basis.

•

Completes administrative duties to record labor hours, materials, expenses, and work orders. Maintains records of personal and team activities. Records time worked in the online timesheet (ESS) provided for county employees. Records work tasks completed with required data in the work order management system (Maximo). Maintains other reports and documents as required by program standards

•

Prepares facilities for severe weather and adverse conditions.

Position(s) may perform other duties in addition to the above as assigned by management.

 


Additional Responsibilities

•

Responds to adverse weather events and emergency response operations as required. Cleans up and restores county properties after damage due to natural events, civil protests or other unplanned events.


*IMPORTANT* In the event of an emergency, as determined by the County Manager or designee, participation in preparedness and response operations should be expected. Employee may be required to fill a temporary assignment in a role different from standard duties, work hours and/or work location in preparation for, during and after the emergency. Employee may also be required to participate in relevant exercises and regular preparedness training.

Required Education

High school diploma or GED
