Ensures provision of consistent internal and external customer support within the Environmental Services Department. Directs, organizes, and supervises team to maintain adherence to quality standards, customer service expectations, deadlines, and established procedures and corrects errors or problems. Routinely engages with technical subject matter experts to manage process changes, ensure work product of team meets expectations, review trends and evaluate work requests. | | | | | | | | |
Essential Functions | | | Priority | % Time | • | Supervises the submission of business and resident requests for permits, inspections, and complaint investigations consistent with state and local laws. With minimal supervision , coordinates workloads, coverage, and assignments for staff according to expertise and capacity. | 1 | 40% | • | Investigates and resolves escalated questions and complaints from contractors, residents, and/or homeowners while working within established laws, ordinances and procedures related to solid waste and land development, consistent with Wake County values to achieve realistic solutions. Consistently works within and outside the department to develop proposals to improve customer experience. | 2 | 30% | • | Communicates trends and issues and ensures that policies are followed. Interfaces regularly with Division Directors, Program Managers, and expert staff to serve programs in Water Quality, Administration, and Solid Waste by establishing procedures, resolving service gaps, adjusting to new legislation, and evaluating effectiveness of workflow and data systems. | 3 | 20% | • | Oversees call system functions, cash handling, and staff training. | 4 | 10% | | | | | | | |
