Primary Purpose

Reviews and assists customers in the preparation of various permits that may include building, mechanical, well water, wastewater, flood, erosion, swimming pool, food institution, safety and land disturbance. Interprets and provides customers with accurate information regarding applicable ordinances, state statutes and federal laws.

Reviews, assists and approves site plans and applications for conformance with local and state regulations, ordinances and general statutes for development or construction.

Issues various permits following all local ordinances, State statutes and Federal laws

Reconciles revenues collected and prepares daily deposit

Provides customer service, maintains records and performs data entry

Position(s) may perform other duties in addition to the above as assigned by management.

 

*IMPORTANT* In the event of an emergency, as determined by the County Manager or designee, participation in preparedness and response operations should be expected. Employee may be required to fill a temporary assignment in a role different from standard duties, work hours and/or work location in preparation for, during and after the emergency. Employee may also be required to participate in relevant exercises and regular preparedness training.

Qualifications


Required Education

High school diploma or GED

Two years of experience in the construction industry and/or customer service


Qualification Equivalency

Equivalent education and experience are accepted

Bachelor's Degree
