Primary Purpose

Ensures all Electronic Security Systems and Video Management Systems are operating by conducting equipment test of all Electronic Security Systems with County facilities; provides afterhours supervision of contracted security staff; and provides immediate response to after-hours emergencies.

 

Conducts equipment test of all Electronic Security Systems (ESS) with County facilities and maintaining/tracking the results in a database; Provides support to second shift security staff by reviewing security reports, responding to incidents, ensuring security policies and procedures are followed, and initiating strong lines of communication. Assists the Wake County Security Center in properly monitoring the ESS to ensure the system is utilized and functioning properly. Responds to afterhours emergencies and provide feedback for proper resolution.

 

Conducts investigations that may require afterhours presence or are an extension of daily investigations. Assists with completion of security projects and provides feedback by completing security systems punch list and test.

Conduct tests of all ESS equipment monitored by the Security Operations Center within County owned and lease facilities. Maintain test results of all equipment, report results, and submit work orders for any items that are not working properly. Assist with the operation and management of the video management system.

Conduct inspections of security system operations, review and create security reports, review alarm notifications instructions, update security graphical maps, and support 2nd shift Security Operations Center staff.

Respond to area of emergency and observe, report and assist. Follow guidelines or instructions pertaining to resolution of emergency, communicate critical information, and coordinate necessary resources. Support GSA as part of 2nd shift support team.

Support investigation process by review of security reports and video. Conduct interviews and obtain factual information through data review. Complete security system punch lists or checklists.

Position(s) may perform other duties in addition to the above as assigned by management.

 


Additional Responsibilities

Responds to adverse weather events and emergency response operations as required for essential employees. Cleans up and restores county properties after damage due to natural events, civil protests, or other unplanned events.

Provide initial response and basic troubleshooting support for electronic security on-calls. Delegate work orders to the appropriate 2nd shift trades of after-hours ESS maintenance.

 

Assign or terminate access privileges from badges.

 

Assign and/or update devices names and numbers within the ESS systems.

 

Create new PM work order.

 


*IMPORTANT* In the event of an emergency, as determined by the County Manager or designee, participation in preparedness and response operations should be expected. Employee may be required to fill a temporary assignment in a role different from standard duties, work hours and/or work location in preparation for, during and after the emergency. Employee may also be required to participate in relevant exercises and regular preparedness training.
