The position exercises considerable initiative with wide latitude for independent judgment in a highly visible role with opportunities to present and advise the Department, County leadership teams, the Wake County Board of Commissioners, media, and external audiences. | | | | | | | | |
Essential Functions | | | Priority | % Time | • | Oversees daily operations of the property tax, reappraisal and gross receipts divisions of the Department | 1 | 25% | • | Assists with the formulation and monitoring of work plans and attaining Department goals | 2 | 25% | • | Assists with the preparation and management of the operational and reappraisal budgets | 3 | 10% | • | Develops requests for proposals and manage contracts | 4 | 10% | • | Assists with the administration of the pay for performance system and addressing employee matters | 5 | 10% | • | Coordinates with the Wake County Information Services Department and external vendors to develop, implement and maintain software platforms | 6 | 10% | • | Supports the Tax Administrator with special projects or external inquiries as needed | 7 | 10% | | | | | | | |

Required Experience | • | Seven years of experience as an Assessor, Deputy Assessor, Appraisal Manager or high level management within local government including at least three years of supervisory experience | | | |
