Primary Purpose

Evaluates training and exercise needs and creates plans to fulfill identified gaps in response to disaster and emergency situations.  Schedules and coordinates development, facilitation, and delivery of comprehensive training and exercise events and; implementation of the County's Disaster Service Worker Program.

 

Essential Functions

Participates in the development and implementation of the Disaster Service Worker Program, a comprehensive education and training program for county employees related to emergency and disaster situations.

Develops, facilitates, coordinates and delivers drills and exercises with varying degrees of complexity in a manner sufficient enough to stress the audience(s).

Maintains training and exercise participation records.

Supports Emergency Management functions and activities.

Position(s) may perform other duties in addition to the above as assigned by management.

 

*IMPORTANT* In the event of an emergency, as determined by the County Manager or designee, participation in preparedness and response operations should be expected. Employee may be required to fill a temporary assignment in a role different from standard duties, work hours and/or work location in preparation for, during and after the emergency. Employee may also be required to participate in relevant exercises and regular preparedness training.

Qualifications


Required Education

•

Bachelor’s degree in Emergency Management or related field


Required Experience

•

Two years of experience in program management

•

Two years of experience in an adult learning environment


Required Licenses and Certifications

•

ICS 400

•

Valid Driver's License and "safe" driving record


Qualification Equivalency

•

Equivalent education and experience are accepted
