Primary Purpose

Assists with specifications, requisitions, procurement, receipt, inventory and tracking of Fire Services, Emergency Management and the Fire Tax District logistical purchases and assets.  Serves as the Liaison between Fire Departments and Wake County GSA for all building services such as annual maintenance items, emergency repairs and planned renovations.  Assist the Fire Services leadership team as a Liaison and coordinating point with Wake FDC on all planned new fire stations.  Serves on the Fire Commission Capital Subcommittee.

 

Essential Functions

Collaborates with Fire Services Logistics Manager in supply chain goals and objectives for Wake County Fire Services and Emergency Management and Wake County Fire Tax Districts.  Evaluates supply needs, develops prioritization, receives all purchased goods and distributes supplies as needed related to requests.  Resolves any problems related to received supply orders or supply needs.

Maintains readiness for emergency equipment by assessing stock levels and replenishing to their established inventory levels.  Assesses warehouse functions to ensure preparedness for emergency situations.

Serves as liaison for all fire station annual building maintenance, emergency repairs and planned renovations.  Serves as the coordinating point with Wake County Facilities Design and Construction and the Fire Tax District for all new fire stations with planning and logistics.

Assists Fire Services with data collection to meet the logistical needs of the department.

Additional Responsibilities

•

Deploys specialty resources and assists other agencies as needed in the support of emergency operations.


*IMPORTANT* In the event of an emergency, as determined by the County Manager or designee, participation in preparedness and response operations should be expected. Employee may be required to fill a temporary assignment in a role different from standard duties, work hours and/or work location in preparation for, during and after the emergency. Employee may also be required to participate in relevant exercises and regular preparedness training.

Required Education

Associate's degree in Fire Services, Emergency Management, Emergency Medical Services or related field

Two years of experience in logistics, supply chain management or related field

Valid Driver's License and "safe" driving record
