Primary Purpose

Improves Wake County Human Services' (WCHS) capacity to meet new and existing organizational goals and developmental priorities, including enhancing employee and customer experiences; to assist the development of WCHS priorities; and to provide technical assistance on strategy implementation and best practices.

 

 

 

Essential Functions

Creates plans to address the following: identified agency improvement priorities, gaps in professional development opportunities, customer experience enhancements, required community or interagency collaborations, workforce engagement, and the development of new Wake County Human Services (WCHS) curricula/skills enhancement efforts.

Educates and supports key staff and stakeholders regarding WCHS priorities, community engagement and partnership development efforts, and collaborative projects for WCHS development/improved functioning.

•

Facilitates WCHS-identified employee or consumer experience-based projects, customer service culture improvement efforts and other targeted WCHS efforts. Utilizes and reinforces collaboration across programs and divisions.

Position(s) may perform other duties in addition to the above as assigned by management.

 

*IMPORTANT* In the event of an emergency, as determined by the County Manager or designee, participation in preparedness and response operations should be expected. Employee may be required to fill a temporary assignment in a role different from standard duties, work hours and/or work location in preparation for, during and after the emergency. Employee may also be required to participate in relevant exercises and regular preparedness training.

•

Ability to collaborate with Wake County Human Services (WCHS) and county leadership on selection of improvement targets and the design of related programs and products.

•

Ability to demonstrate initiative and independent judgment in dealing effectively with ambiguity, recognizing trends, identifying approaches and offering a variety of options and solutions to solve problems.

•

Excellent communication (written, verbal, and presentation) and interpersonal skills. 

•

Build strong, trust-based relationships in order to effectively collaborate with WCHS and county leadership to proactively ensure successful project delivery.

Provide strong stakeholder management and related communications. Work with WCHS/program management and staff to identify and design projects to support improvements and enhancements to overall execution.

Exceptional critical thinking and analytical ability with demonstrated troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

•

Ability to interact and communicate effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization with tact and diplomacy.
