Primary Purpose

Ensures and coordinates the delivery of seasonal assistance services to clients of Warmth for Wake, Cool for Wake and Holiday Cheer programs.

 

Essential Functions

 

 

Priority

•

Coordinates and implements communication and systems for referrals of needy families from Wake County Human Services (WCHS) staff and matching families with volunteer or other sponsorship for holiday gifts.

•

Coordinates donation/purchase and delivery of fans and air conditioners to qualified and/or medically needy clients.

•

Coordinates seasonal, volunteer firewood splitting and delivery sessions, including training and equipment management. Coordinates donation/purchase and delivery of heaters to qualified clients.

•

Acts as Hearing Officer for Administrative Disqualification Hearings from Economic Social Services Division,

•

Supervises and coordinates North Carolina State University Social Work Interns for Seasonal Assistance and Consumer Experience projects.

Position(s) may perform other duties in addition to the above as assigned by management.

 

*IMPORTANT* In the event of an emergency, as determined by the County Manager or designee, participation in preparedness and response operations should be expected. Employee may be required to fill a temporary assignment in a role different from standard duties, work hours and/or work location in preparation for, during and after the emergency. Employee may also be required to participate in relevant exercises and regular preparedness training.

Qualifications


Required Education

•

Bachelors degree in Social Work (BSW)


Required Experience

•

Two years of job-related experience

Equivalent education and experience are accepted


Preferred Education

Bachelor's Degree

Requires a Social Work degree to supervise social work interns
