Essential Functions | | | Priority | % Time | • | Provides technical guidance and assistance to develop, improve, and expand disaster preparedness planning and emergency response to public health related emergencies whether naturally occurring or man-made events. | 1 | 30% | • | Creates, executes, and evaluates training and exercise programs including the use of Tabletop, Functional, and FullScale Exercises to test and improve new and existing plans and procedures. | 2 | 40% | • | Conducts research, including literature review and offsite visits to ensure that emergency preparedness best practices are undertaken. Serves on internal and external committees/workgroups to further develop preparedness in the county in accordance with best practices. Attends industry conferences, and continuing education, trainings, and professional/personal development opportunities. | 3 | 10% | • | Coordinates management of emergency response equipment and supplies. Contributes to the monitoring and reporting of program/grant deliverables. | 4 | 20% | | | | | | | |
Position(s) may perform other duties in addition to the above as assigned by management. | | *IMPORTANT* In the event of an emergency, as determined by the County Manager or designee, participation in preparedness and response operations should be expected. Employee may be required to fill a temporary assignment in a role different from standard duties, work hours and/or work location in preparation for, during and after the emergency.
