Primary Purpose

Oversees the Drug Overdose Prevention Initiative which is designed to reduce drug overdoses, risk-taking behaviors and promote harm reduction efforts.  Devises recovery and treatment supports and tobacco reduction efforts through training and collaboration with contracted providers and community partnerships.

 

Essential Functions

Manages daily functions of Drug Overdose Prevention Initiative including budget management and contract execution and deliverables. Maintains oversight of bus tickets, gift cards and food distribution to individuals with substance use disorders.

Provides program management assistance for Recovery Court program and supervision of Recovery Court supervisor.

•

Researches, writes and manages awarded local and federal grants for program sustainability. Performs contract management, grant writing and management, and budget oversight.

•

Coordinates logistics and operations for Wake County Drug Overdose Prevention Coalition. Engages and collaborates with Coalition subcommittee members.

•

Collaborates and establishes partnerships with community organizations including treatment and recovery supports and harm reduction efforts. Meets with contracted partners regularly.

•

Supports outreach services with the Injury and Drug Prevention Community Nurse and contractual partners for Behavioral Health and Substance Use Integration.

Makes presentations to various internal and external programs on the Drug Overdose Prevention Initiative.

Position(s) may perform other duties in addition to the above as assigned by management.

 

*IMPORTANT* In the event of an emergency, as determined by the County Manager or designee, participation in preparedness and response operations should be expected. Employee may be required to fill a temporary assignment in a role different from standard duties, work hours and/or work location in preparation for, during and after the emergency. Employee may also be required to participate in relevant exercises and regular preparedness training.
