Primary Purpose

Oversees day-to-day activities of the HIV/STD teams' program and represents Wake County Human Services (WCHS) in community, local, and state working groups.

 

Essential Functions

Provides day-to-day supervision of staff team and related activities through prioritization, assignment of duties, training , monitoring, coaching and evaluation of staff.

Assures and coordinates provision of services for individuals seeking assistance from the HIV/STD Community Program.

Maintains data and creates reports for county, state and internal program.

•

Develops, participates and maintains Wake County Human Services (WCHS), State and community relationships and partnerships

Delivers direct services to participants seeking services on HIV/STD.

Position(s) may perform other duties in addition to the above as assigned by management.

 

*IMPORTANT* In the event of an emergency, as determined by the County Manager or designee, participation in preparedness and response operations should be expected. Employee may be required to fill a temporary assignment in a role different from standard duties, work hours and/or work location in preparation for, during and after the emergency. Employee may also be required to participate in relevant exercises and regular preparedness training.

Qualifications


Required Education

•

Bachelor's degree in Public Health or related field


Required Experience

•

Three years of experience in public health


Qualification Equivalency

•

Equivalent education and experience are accepted

High level of HIV/STD knowledge prevention, transmission, symptoms and disease progression.

•

Ability to lead, supervise, and motivate staff.
