Primary Purpose

Provides management, supervision and consultation for the activities of the Immunization Tracking Team including reporting of activities, monitoring of vaccine supply, unit budget and supplies.  Provides training and access for Wake County Employees and community medical staff to implement and maintain use of the North Carolina Immunization Registry (NCIR) and assist with other vaccine-related issues. Ensures oversight of tracking clients in a specific cohort for immunization compliance and provide access to immunization services in the community and to WC Employees as needed or requested. Assists the Public Health Division with planned and unplanned events.

 

Essential Functions

Provides direct supervision to 2 Communicable Disease Technicians and 1 Registered Nurse (RN). Monitors day-to-day staffing and scheduling, updates policies and procedures for team activities. Conducts meetings and provides opportunities for staff training and development.

•

 Ensures compliance with Wake County and NC Immunization Program (NCIP) policies regarding the use of the NCIR. Monitors vaccine inventory at 12 clinics and program areas at 6 agency sites. Consults with private provider practices in Wake County concerning NCIR and vaccine related issues. Orders, receives and distributes vaccine for the agency.

Determines priorities and outcomes for Immunization Tracking Team. Monitors expenditures, revenue and ordering related to Unit budget. Develops and maintain contact with community providers and organizations.

•

Tracks patients for compliance in a specific geographic area, and prepares for Annual Immunization Assessment, AFIX and Site Monitoring Visits by the NC Immunization Program (NCIP).

•

Represents the Immunization Tracking Team at agency and community events. Assists the Public Health Division with planned and unplanned events. Administrator for the NACo Prescription Drug Discount Card program for Wake County government.

Position(s) may perform other duties in addition to the above as assigned by management.

 

*IMPORTANT* In the event of an emergency, as determined by the County Manager or designee, participation in preparedness and response operations should be expected. Employee may be required to fill a temporary assignment in a role different from standard duties, work hours and/or work location in preparation for, during and after the emergency. Employee may also be required to participate in relevant exercises and regular preparedness training.
