Primary Purpose

Provides Childbirth and Parenting Education to Human Services clients as well as education programs on one or more of the following focus area/ Maternal and Child Health topics: Women's Health Programming including Family Planning Education, Infant Safe Sleep/Cribs for Kids, Child Passenger Safety Programming and other Maternal, Women's and Child Health topics as requested by consumers and community partners.

 

Essential Functions

•

Teaches Childbirth and Parenting classes one evening per week as well as day classes and 1:1 offerings as needed. This includes development, evaluation and review of existing state approved Childbirth and Parenting approved curriculum. Provides all necessary billing information in a timely manner after service delivery.

Provides training in one of the following focus areas: (1) the Childhood Injury Prevention Program which also includes management of agencies child passenger safety permanent checking station or (2) the Women's Health Education Program that provides annual Women's Health Month activities and monthly community Women's Health Programming as well as Family Planning Education via Wake County Human Services Women's Health Clinic. Completes required trainings and maintains required certifications for role.

Position(s) may perform other duties in addition to the above as assigned by management.

 

*IMPORTANT* In the event of an emergency, as determined by the County Manager or designee, participation in preparedness and response operations should be expected. Employee may be required to fill a temporary assignment in a role different from standard duties, work hours and/or work location in preparation for, during and after the emergency. Employee may also be required to participate in relevant exercises and regular preparedness training.
