Essential Functions | | | Priority | % Time | • | Oversees Nursing activity and Nursing training across Human Services division to ensure the maintenance of safe and effective nursing care. Directs the school health program and provides direct supervision to the school health Assistant Nursing Director. Provides direct supervision to the Assistant Nursing Director of Clinics and Public Health under which nursing training and continuing education reside. Assures the periodic assessment of nursing competencies. Assures the development and annual review of policies procedures and protocols align with practice standards contractual obligations federal and state regulations. Reviews all medical and nursing standing orders annually. Monitors changes in regulations that impact nursing services. Guides supervisors and nurses in the application of Board of Nursing regulations and policies. Conducts investigations of alleged violations of the NC Nurse practice act. Assures a system to monitor nursing staff credentials is established, improved and sustained. Serves as lead point of contact on communication for national and state organizations regarding nursing issues. Promotes best practices an innovation in service delivery. | 1 | 70% | • | Assures development of learning opportunities to ensure compliance with nursing regulations, corrective actions and best practices. Establishes mentoring, peer advising and coaching for nurses.
