Primary Purpose

Assures Quality Health Care by coordinating, monitoring, and reporting quality assurance studies. Plans, coordinates, and implements the quality management and quality improvement programs for Wake County Human Services, Communicable Disease Area. Monitors and provides assistance with quality assurance and compliance functions. Provides consultation and direction to ensure programs and services are implemented at the highest standards and patients receive the highest level of care. Ensures policies and procedures are monitored and updated to include regulatory changes. Assists Program Manager with budgetary issues, procurement and reporting.

Supervises the provision of patient care by conducting quality assurance checks, reviewing documentation, providing technical oversight and instruction, and observing and coaching during daily rounds

Participates in DCP continuous quality assurance programs that promotes improvements in quality care and disease prevention  Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â

Meets quality assurance cost standards by monitoring expenses; implementing cost-saving actions.

Assists with the quality assurance program by working with CD areas quality improvement plans.

Additional Responsibilities

•

Prepares written reports to management on quality assurance review observations and recommendations    

•

Attends care conference meetings, Quality Assurance/Improvement and staff meetings


*IMPORTANT* In the event of an emergency, as determined by the County Manager or designee, participation in preparedness and response operations should be expected. Employee may be required to fill a temporary assignment in a role different from standard duties, work hours and/or work location in preparation for, during and after the emergency. Employee may also be required to participate in relevant exercises and regular preparedness training.
