Maintain a level of knowledge that is current with new technology. Provide technology consultation and support. Essential Functions | | | Priority | % Time | • | Define requirements and design solutions featuring MS SQL Server and Oracle Design and write program code for database access, modifications and constructions including stored procedures, SQL Server and Oracle Integration Services ,SQL Server and Oracle Reporting Services. Automate functions to load and replicate data. Ensure proper documentation and adherence to development best practices. Consult with IS Staff and business users to provide expert options on database deployment and performance. | 1 | 40% | • | Perform SQL Server and Oracle system administration functions, including back ups, configuration changes, reporting, scripting, upgrades, and reporting. | 2 | 25% | • | Develops strategies for database deployment and configuration. | 3 | 20% | • | Partner with the Database Manager and Server Team personnel to devise optimum configurations for database, including backup and recovery, and data mirroring strategies. | 4 | 10% | • | Stay current on emerging database technologies and best practices. | 5 | 5% | | | | | | | |
