Primary Purpose

Manages the activities of the IS Enterprise Support and Collaboration Team, including administration and maintenance of the County's email, office productivity, and collaboration platforms. Provides technical and strategic direction for the program and communicates impacts of changes and updates to the platforms. Researches and evaluates products that may enhance current or future activities. Troubleshoots and resolves complex IT issues. Serves as a technical lead or subject matter expert for supported IT Platforms in support of the business unit. Directs the implementation and completion of special projects as assigned.

Directs and leads the activities of the Enterprise Messaging and Collaboration Team, including defining and planning strategy for Microsoft Office 365, IBM  Notes, and Adaxes. Also includes creating/managing budget for license and maintenance and  Enterprise Infrastructure CIP 7-year roadmap.

Leads special projects as assigned.

Serves as a communications link to the IS Leadership Team, other IS Department workgroups, other Wake County workgroups, and others outside Wake County Government.

Performs technical reviews of project requirements, RFP's, vendor responses, and other documentation as requested by the IS Leadership Team.

Position(s) may perform other duties in addition to the above as assigned by management.

 

*IMPORTANT* In the event of an emergency, as determined by the County Manager or designee, participation in preparedness and response operations should be expected. Employee may be required to fill a temporary assignment in a role different from standard duties, work hours and/or work location in preparation for, during and after the emergency. Employee may also be required to participate in relevant exercises and regular preparedness training.

Qualifications


Required Education

•

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering or related field


Required Experience

Four years of experience in enterprise system design and administration
