Primary Purpose

Gains insight into County operations and practical experience by working with Attorneys as they litigate cases on behalf of the County and Sheriff. Performs research and general administrative tasks related to legal operations.

 

 

Essential Functions

Appears with staff Attorneys in state, federal and administrative courts and works with staff members as they litigate cases.

Observes hearings and other court proceedings. Assists with providing litigation support and defending the county in lawsuits.

Helps Attorneys prepare for court by organizing files and gathering information.

Position(s) may perform other duties in addition to the above as assigned by management.

 

*IMPORTANT* In the event of an emergency, as determined by the County Manager or designee, participation in preparedness and response operations should be expected. Employee may be required to fill a temporary assignment in a role different from standard duties, work hours and/or work location in preparation for, during and after the emergency. Employee may also be required to participate in relevant exercises and regular preparedness training.
