Primary Purpose

Provides leadership and supervision over Department Program Auditors to ensure a high level of accuracy, as it relates to the prevention, detection, prosecution and enforcement of over issuance, overpayments and fraud in all Economic Services Programs.  Ensures compliance with federal, state and county policies, procedures, and guidelines. Ensures productivity through evaluation of ongoing analysis of staff caseloads, conduct regular meeting and individual conference to ensure the programmatic and agency outcomes are met.  Maintains relationships with other agencies and organization to explain and interpret program purpose and policies.

Provides leadership and supervision over Department Program Auditors as it relates to the prevention, detection, prosecution and enforcement of over issuance and overpayments.  Ensures compliance with federal, state and county policies, procedures and guidelines.

Conducts second party reviews to ensure quality and accuracy of established claims.

•

Oversees appropriate actions on claims, local and state hearing to ensure investigation time standards are met per federal, state, and county guidelines.

Oversees data in NC Fast, Lotus Notes, and Hearing Database for appropriate information to track timeliness and payments.

Conducts investigations for state referrals and vacant caseloads.

Provides staff support thorough effective supervision, coaching, and performance management.

Additional Responsibilities

•

Assist and adhere to other duties as assigned.

•

Attend division, agency, and county meetings as assigned.

•

Complete county and program trainings timely both optional and required.

•

Maintain policy knowledge and stays abreast on policy changes for all economic services programs.

•

Develop training procedure manuals, guides, or course materials, such as handouts or visual materials.


*IMPORTANT* In the event of an emergency, as determined by the County Manager or designee, participation in preparedness and response operations should be expected. Employee may be required to fill a temporary assignment in a role different from standard duties, work hours and/or work location in preparation for, during and after the emergency. Employee may also be required to participate in relevant exercises and regular preparedness training.

3 Years

Three years of related experience as a supervisor, team leader, or trainer experience with State or County Department of Health and Human Services. 

And

•

 

Competent working knowledge of NC Fast or similar State or County Economic Benefit system experience at a proficient level.

And

•

 

Four (4) years of Program Integrity experience within a State or County Economic Services program (Food Nutrition Services, Work First, Family and Children's Medicaid, Adult Medicaid or Special Assistance Medicaid).

Comfortable working with Microsoft Excel and other computer programs that may be used in organizing data and creating reports.
