Primary Purpose

Provides oversight, leadership and direction for the Program Integrity Unit.  Investigates and prevents suspected fraud and/or overpayments in human services and housing programs. Sets direction and development of short and long-range goals for the unit and researches and develops strategies for administration of services; identifies trends and recommends county policy changes and/or updates. Evaluates issues and concerns to ensure programmatic and agency outcomes are met.

Provides oversight, leadership and direction for the Program Integrity Unit to include the investigation and prevention of suspected fraud and/or overpayments in Food and Nutrition Services, Work First, Special Assistance, Medicaid, Child Care Subsidy, Emergency Assistance, and Housing Community Revitalization programs.

Conducts Local Treasury Offset Program (TOP)  Reviews to ensure debts are legally enforceable.

Reviews accounts referred to the Legal Department to determine whether legal action is appropriate and to otherwise identify potential legal, compliance, or internal policy-related issues with respect to such accounts.

•

Compares work completed with milestone expectations, to meet program and unit objectives.

Provides staff support through effective supervision, coaching and performance management.

Position(s) may perform other duties in addition to the above as assigned by management.

 

*IMPORTANT* In the event of an emergency, as determined by the County Manager or designee, participation in preparedness and response operations should be expected. Employee may be required to fill a temporary assignment in a role different from standard duties, work hours and/or work location in preparation for, during and after the emergency. Employee may also be required to participate in relevant exercises and regular preparedness training.

5 Years

Program Integrity experience within a State or County Economic Services program (Food Nutrition Services, Work First, Family and Children's Medicaid, Adult Medicaid or Special Assistance Medicaid).

And

•

 

Competent working knowledge of NC Fast or similar State or County Economic Benefit system experience at a proficient level.
