Primary Purpose

Serves as the chief law enforcement officer of the county. Preserves the peace and public order. Protects citizens by developing crime-prevention programs, monitoring crime trends, working with community action groups and social agencies, developing and enforcing systems, policies and procedures for obtaining, analyzing and safeguarding evidence. Manages community emergencies. Directs and manages staff.
