Primary Purpose

Coordinates and provides educational assistance, library resources, counseling and recreational activities to detention inmates. Processes work releases. Coordinates electronic house arrest and inmate visitation programs. Performs duties of a test proctor for inmate certifications.

 

Essential Functions

Coordinates work release programs. Reviews orders and collects necessary paperwork. Visits worksites, explains policies and procedures and monitors progress.

Posts and tracks information for inmates listing educational opportunities dates, times and eligibility requirements.

•

Coordinates the visitor process. Ensures that visitors have proper identification, explains visitation rules and ensures compliance.

•

Reviews disciplinary packets, conducts hearings, completes reports and issues dispositions.

•

Coordinates transportation of inmates released. Makes necessary arrangements for available Deputies, readies inmates and records all data.

Position(s) may perform other duties in addition to the above as assigned by management.

 

*IMPORTANT* In the event of an emergency, as determined by the County Manager or designee, participation in preparedness and response operations should be expected. Employee may be required to fill a temporary assignment in a role different from standard duties, work hours and/or work location in preparation for, during and after the emergency. Employee may also be required to participate in relevant exercises and regular preparedness training.
