Primary Purpose

Evaluates and diagnoses mental and emotional disorders of individuals through observation, interview, and psychological tests.  Formulates and administers programs of treatment. Coordinates care with medical provider and other community programs.

Conducts comprehensive clinical assessment including psychological testing and provides direct mental health services as needed and maintains confidentiality of records relating to clients' treatment.

Uses information obtained from interviews, tests, records, or reference materials to develop and implement individual treatment plans, specifying type, frequency, intensity, and duration of therapy.

Coordinates mental health care with the medical care team.

Provides direct supervision and oversight for clinic social workers and contracted mental health staff

Position(s) may perform other duties in addition to the above as assigned by management.

 


Additional Responsibilities

•

Provides consultation and education as needed for staff in the Public Health Clinical and Community Programs

•

Position includes all previously listed duties, and all other duties as assigned by supervisor. In addition, position may require individual to work at alternate work locations and alternate work hours outside the regular Monday – Friday 8:00 am to 5:00pm and additional days, to include weekends


*IMPORTANT* In the event of an emergency, as determined by the County Manager or designee, participation in preparedness and response operations should be expected. Employee may be required to fill a temporary assignment in a role different from standard duties, work hours and/or work location in preparation for, during and after the emergency. Employee may also be required to participate in relevant exercises and regular preparedness training.
