Provides strategic leadership and management of the Adult & Family Services programs, which include Energy Assistance, Child Care Subsidy, Work First, Employment Services, Adult Protective Services, Guardianship and Adult and Community Services. Ensures compliance with federal, state and county regulations assuring that services are provided in a manner that results in positive outcomes for Wake County citizens. Leads staff in the provision of services to ensure accessible, timely and accurate services. | | | | | | | | |
Essential Functions | | | Priority | % Time | • | Provides managerial, programmatic and supervisory oversight to the Adult & Family Services programs. Monitors performance indicators and outcomes and evaluates effectiveness of service delivery models. Evaluates daily operations, business practices, space needs and customer service issues. Leads performance improvement activities to achieve continuous quality improvement. | 1 | 40% | • | Supervises Adult & Family Services Program Managers. Provides support and guidance to Program Managers in the areas of recruitment, disciplinary actions, and consumer complaints. Evaluates performance based on program outcomes and develops improvement plans when needed. | 2 | 25% | • | Evaluates workload distribution and allocation of staffing to ensure program success. Utilizes data to evaluate staffing models and allocation of staff and other resources. Engages in business planning and budget development. Works collaboratively with other Assistant Directors on division-wide projects and initiatives. | 3 | 15% | • | Ensures that the division is prepared for audits and quality reviews. Evaluates performance of programs during audits and make recommendations for corrective action. Evaluates data to determine success of corrective action plans. Interfaces with the NC Department Health & Human Services staff as needed regarding program policy and implementation. | 4 | 15% | • | Represents division in partnerships that promote advocacy, program improvement, and best practices to achieve accessible and effective services to customers. | 5 | 5% | | | | | | | |
