Primary Purpose

Provides coaching support and technical assistance, applying policy and practice using in-person and remote approaches. Coaches and mentor staff, individually and as groups, in best practices for child welfare social work.

 

Essential Functions

 

 

Priority

•

Develops and delivers coaching for new and existing staff, including formal and informal delivery, on-site and remote support.  Provides coaching through over-the-shoulder (in-person) and virtual observation and instruction.

•

Creates practice job aids, FAQs, and tips/tricks through engagement and modification of existing tools when needed as system and policy changes; develop and provide policy guidance, technical assistance, and training related to practice support using multiple forms of technology.

•

Assesses strengths, trends, and concerns through practice support activities; communicate with CQI Team and CQI Manager about trends; incorporates their feedback when providing coaching and technical assistance to staff; and continuously evaluates processes to improve delivery of support.

•

Reviews assigned Child Welfare protocols. Collaborates with internal subject matter experts to revise and update language in protocols. Make recommendations for additions and eliminations of protocols, as needed. Forwards recommendations and revisions to Supervisor. Tracks progress on protocols.

•

Participates in committees and program improvement activities; participate in webinars, training, and/or committee work related to child welfare practices; and support the project management activities related to the implementation and operationalization of new policies, practices, and systems.

Position(s) may perform other duties in addition to the above as assigned by management.

 

*IMPORTANT* In the event of an emergency, as determined by the County Manager or designee, participation in preparedness and response operations should be expected. Employee may be required to fill a temporary assignment in a role different from standard duties, work hours and/or work location in preparation for, during and after the emergency. Employee may also be required to participate in relevant exercises and regular preparedness training.
