Primary Purpose

Assists Supervisor by leading a team of social services case workers who determine eligibility and manage caseloads; evaluating and applying state and county policies and procedures; and ensuring productivity through ongoing analysis of staff workloads and case assignments.

Participates in interviewing and selecting new team member and develops team by providing indirect supervision of the team.

Determines initial and ongoing eligibility for Child Care Subsidy services. Interacts extensively in person or on the phone with clients. Works in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines within a team of a Case Workers.

Acts as consultant to Child Care Subsidy case workers and community programs regarding case management, eligibility. interpretation of program-related federal, state, and county regulations and policies.

Provides guidance to Case Workers in prioritizing work and/or supporting difficult case management.

•

Conducts quality assurance audits of client case files on workers for completeness, accuracy, consistency and conformity.

•

Train new caseworkers after formal training is completed by Program and Staff Development Trainer and experienced caseworkers, as needed.

Position(s) may perform other duties in addition to the above as assigned by management.

 


Additional Responsibilities

•

Participates in, and completes division, department, county and program trainings, both optional and required.

•

Completes hearing summaries and attends hearings.


*IMPORTANT* In the event of an emergency, as determined by the County Manager or designee, participation in preparedness and response operations should be expected. Employee may be required to fill a temporary assignment in a role different from standard duties, work hours and/or work location in preparation for, during and after the emergency. Employee may also be required to participate in relevant exercises and regular preparedness training.
