Primary Purpose

Leads the Homeless Services Division to prevent homeless episodes or ensure homeless is rare, brief and non-recurring throughout the community. Coordinates with the Affordable Housing Division and the Permanent Housing & Support Services Division of the Housing Department, as well as other Departments, programs and external partners to prevent and decrease homelessness through engagement, education, support services and affordable housing. Supervises varying types of professional staff providing emergency shelter, rapid rehousing, prevention, outreach, navigation, education, and other services.

Position(s) may perform other duties in addition to the above as assigned by management.

 

*IMPORTANT* In the event of an emergency, as determined by the County Manager or designee, participation in preparedness and response operations should be expected. Employee may be required to fill a temporary assignment in a role different from standard duties, work hours and/or work location in preparation for, during and after the emergency. Employee may also be required to participate in relevant exercises and regular preparedness training.

Qualifications


Required Education

•

Bachelor's degree in Human Services, Health or related field


Required Experience

•

Six years of clinical operations management experience including at least two years of supervisory experience


Qualification Equivalency

•

Equivalent education and experience are accepted
