Primary Purpose

Develop, manage, and maintain the ERP program governance documentation and facilitate the strategic direction of Wake County's ERP platform / program. Partner with the ERP business units to develop ERP policies. Serve as the County's senior ERP technical resource. Serve as a member of the ERP Sponsor's group and lead the ERP KEY Leaders group. Manage the IT ERP technical team and provide ERP vendor management support and budget oversight.

ERP Program Governance and Technical Lead:

• Develop a business-strategy-first approach to ERP governance, including the development of an ERP product

       portfolio and project roadmap based on business capability and outcome alignment.

• Provide leadership by working closely with business partners to understand their desired outcomes and processes,

       review current capabilities, and identify process improvements.

• Provide technical recommendations and best-in-class advice.

• Assess the effectiveness and value of the current ERP platform, and if deemed the best course of action, develop a

       long-term ERP replacement strategy This will include leading the competitive procurement process and the

       successful implementation of the new ERP platform.

Lead IT ERP Team:

• Manage the activities and projects of the IT technical staff that provide interface, security, reporting, project

       management, etc. support for the Wake County ERP platform.

Vendor Management:

• Collaborate with vendors to develop and manage ERP project implementation plans, deliverables, schedules,

       resource requirements, and budgets.

• Develop and maintain strong vendor relationships related to IT systems.

• Manage vendor contracts.

• Evaluate vendors for specific projects and help connect Wake County with those resources.

Budget and Platform Acquisition Responsibilities:

• Prepare recommendations for hardware and software acquisitions, staffing adjustments, and project budgets during

       the budget preparation process.

• Aid with the management of operating and capital budgets.

• Contribute to RFPs or procurement of new ERP products by reviewing functional and technical requirements, scopes

       of work and available funding.

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field

Have a proven and successful track record of implementing multiple ERP systems either internally or as a consultant, and leadership experience in managing diverse teams to achieve the desired outcomes for the organization.

•

Possess proven experience guiding large, complex enterprises toward the purchase of ERP solutions that meet organizational needs.

•

Have exceptional communication skills and be able to clearly document, discuss and convey complex information technology concepts and terminology with technical and non-technical staff at all levels within and outside the County.

•

Be a detail-oriented, self-starter with the proven ability to work independently and as part of a team with verified results.

•

Have proven strategic thinking skills.

•

Knowledge of the principles and practices of public administration including financial, fiscal, personnel management, budgeting, and supervision.

•

•
