Primary Purpose

The Housing Lead Specialists are provider-facing staff offering the highest level of customer service to community members seeking housing leads for clients exiting homelessness. The Housing Lead Specialist connects providers with housing leads that best suit the client's needs, shares the application logistics, orders inspections for units and follows up with providers to ensure the LEU team has the most up to date information regarding unit availability and lease signings. The Housing Lead Specialists actively communicates with the LEU team to ensure provider feedback is integrated into LEU operations.

 

Essential Functions

In collaboration with the LEU Program Manager, Consultants, and Strategic Advisor for Data, identify and cultivate housing leads for community service providers, create outreach materials relevant to service providers, and provide  operational support related to securing housing for homeless service providers.

In collaboration with the Landlord Engagement Consultants, develop a network of property management companies and landlords with the goal of increasing access to housing for people experiencing homelessness.

Provide exceptional customer services information to service providers on unit details such as logistics of housing set-ups including furniture and supplies, utility hook-ups, lease signing expectations, etc.

Input accurate and timely data into LEU Database regarding unit vacancies with community service providers to accurately record successful client placements

Position(s) may perform other duties in addition to the above as assigned by management.

 

*IMPORTANT* In the event of an emergency, as determined by the County Manager or designee, participation in preparedness and response operations should be expected. Employee may be required to fill a temporary assignment in a role different from standard duties, work hours and/or work location in preparation for, during and after the emergency. Employee may also be required to participate in relevant exercises and regular preparedness training.

Qualifications


Required Education

Associate's or bachelor's degree in relevant field preferred or comparable experience


Required Experience

Two years of experience working in housing and/or homelessness sector


Qualification Equivalency

Equivalent education and experience are accepted

Aptitude for learning and implement technical systems to improve processes

Experience working with people from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds.

Proficiency Microsoft Office 365 applications including SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams, Planner, Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.

Strong organizational skills with aptitude for project management and multitasking to manage multiple concurrent projects.

Ability to present and maintain professional interactions with team members, community organizations and partner organizations via written, verbal and in-person communications.

Strong sense of ownership of work processes and outcomes.

Ability to manage change while working as part of a team.
