Directs functions of operational, clinical and quality initiatives that support the provision of consistent clinical performance and practice standards across the Wake County EMS System. Participates as a member of the EMS senior leadership team. Ensures implementation of, and facilitates, the analysis of quality assurance and quality improvement programs. Supports EMS System education programs and provider credentialing functions ensuring the collaboration and coordination of all stakeholders in these programs. | | | | | | | | |
Essential Functions | | | Priority | % Time | • | Functions as a member of the EMS senior leadership team managing the Office of Medical Affairs including providing direct supervision to staff members, projects and programs. | 1 | 30% | • | Manages the EMS System performance improvement program to ensure compliance with protocols, standards of care, EMS clinician proficiency, appropriate patient management, effectiveness of treatments and protocols, evaluation for positive patient outcomes and other elements or components of the EMS system that occur from the initiation of a 9-1-1 telephone call through delivery of a patient to an emergency department or approved alternative disposition. | 2 | 20% | • | Provides on-line and off-line medical direction for the EMS System.
