Primary Purpose

Reports to the Creative Director, implementing their vision, strategy and standards. Acts as a working manager, creating senior level video productions while providing direction and project management for Communications Office video production staff, moving projects from initial concept to final review. Works with the Creative Director and county leadership to help form and implement video standards for the county. Creates professional development opportunities for direct reports to support individual career growth and succession planning for the office.

 

Essential Functions

Conceptulize, create and deliver high-quality video products across multiple channels to further the county’s communications goals, and educate, inform and motivate the target audiences.

Attend project kickoffs, participate in concept development, and provide direction and approvals to Communications Office video staff throughout the production process.

Manages production schedule for staff video producers, maintains schedules for video shoots with staff, stakeholders and partners.

Collaborates with Creative Director and county leadership on high-level projects and developing and enforcing county brand standards.

Manages direct reports general personnel needs, conduct employee performance reviews, complete required training and attend strategic planning and leadership training sessions with the Creative Services leadership team.

Manages and maintains licenses and subscriptions, production gear, editing workstations and studio.

Manages PEG funding, project budgets and invoices.

Position(s) may perform other duties in addition to the above as assigned by management.

 

*IMPORTANT* In the event of an emergency, as determined by the County Manager or designee, participation in preparedness and response operations should be expected. Employee may be required to fill a temporary assignment in a role different from standard duties, work hours and/or work location in preparation for, during and after the emergency. Employee may also be required to participate in relevant exercises and regular preparedness training.

Qualifications


Required Education

Bachelor's degree in Communications, Mass Media, Marketing or a related field

Five years of experience working in communications or marketing


Required Licenses and Certifications

Valid driver's license and a "safe" driving record
