Primary Purpose

Manages public health projects and ensures strategic use of data to support public health programming. Provides administrative guidance to program staff and supports compliance with public health best practices. Coordinates operations in alignment with Wake County Health and Human Services department goals.

 

Essential Functions

Manage Public Health projects that span across multiple programs. Collaborate with Public Health program staff to lead projects from inception to completion. Projects include: create spending plans for Public Health funding, compile budget information, organize use of Public Health outreach minibuses, coordinate Public Health internships, complete community partner requests, and other projects as assigned.

Utilize data to inform Public Health programming and develop strategies for program enhancement. Collaborate with Epidemiology and Data Analytics to support data-informed decision making and quality improvement. Utilize data to ensure Public Health program compliance with best practices and accreditation requirements. Compile monthly reports of Public Health program outputs/outcomes.

Assist Program Managers with county administrative processes such as human resource functions, budget planning, and finance requests.

Plan and compile agenda items and presentations for leadership meetings including the HHS Board, Public Health Committee, and Public Health Huddle in communication with Program Managers.

Position(s) may perform other duties in addition to the above as assigned by management.

 

*IMPORTANT* In the event of an emergency, as determined by the County Manager or designee, participation in preparedness and response operations should be expected. Employee may be required to fill a temporary assignment in a role different from standard duties, work hours and/or work location in preparation for, during and after the emergency. Employee may also be required to participate in relevant exercises and regular preparedness training.

Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration or related field
