Essential Functions | | | Priority | % Time | • | Manages the following public health programs for human services and has direct supervision of program leadership staff: Health Promotion/Chronic Disease Prevention, Maternal and Child Health, HIV and Sexually Transmitted Disease Prevention, and 4-H. | 1 | 40% | • | Assures public health core functions through direct management of services, and through internal and external partnerships. Monitors community health, diagnosis and investigation of health problems, informs, educates and empowers the public about health issues, mobilizes community partnerships, develops policies and plans that support community health, enforces laws that protect health and safety, connects people to health services, assures a competent workforce, evaluates effectiveness and accessibility of services, and researches innovative solutions to health problems. | 2 | 40% | • | Facilitates community partnerships for public health. Participates in State public health meetings, local, state and national initiatives to provide direction for public health and human services policies.
