Primary Purpose

The Homeland Security and Emergency Services Director, based within the Wake County Sheriff's Office, will be responsible broadly for intelligence, planning, and response.  It will initially comprise of several core functions and work closely with the leadership of the HS/SOD and the Sheriff's Office leadership, the teams of the Special Operations Division and task force officers, as well as support the needs of the Criminal Investigation Division, Patrol Division, and Courthouse Operations.

Translate emerging developments in the technical field into actionable initiatives that drive significant impact across the organization and the Intelligence Community (IC)

*IMPORTANT* In the event of an emergency, as determined by the County Manager or designee, participation in preparedness and response operations should be expected. Employee may be required to fill a temporary assignment in a role different from standard duties, work hours and/or work location in preparation for, during and after the emergency. Employee may also be required to participate in relevant exercises and regular preparedness training.
