Primary Purpose

Responsible for enhancing and supporting the health of the Department's culture and the well-being of its people by designing, leading, implementing and facilitating strategies that close the gaps between Health and Human Services people, culture expectations and its reality.

Develops and implements HR business strategies (talent acquisitions, leadership development, learning and growth, employee well-being) that foster healthy culture and employee well-being.

Designs people and workforce strategies with the people most impacted adding their own expertise, research and data to design conversation. This design work is focused on, but not limited to, culture and people strategies that improve the health of the Public Health Agency's culture and well-being of it's people.

Embeds Wake County Health and Human Service's vision, mission and values especially equity, innovation and engagement, in all their work.

•

Provides consultative and strategic direction to workforce development and talent acquisition programs.

•

Champions the establishment and promotion of the organization's employer branding strategy and culture to prospective candidates for employment.

•

Oversees financial decisions of the Communicative Disease Center Infrastructure and Workforce grant.

Position(s) may perform other duties in addition to the above as assigned by management.

 

*IMPORTANT* In the event of an emergency, as determined by the County Manager or designee, participation in preparedness and response operations should be expected. Employee may be required to fill a temporary assignment in a role different from standard duties, work hours and/or work location in preparation for, during and after the emergency. Employee may also be required to participate in relevant exercises and regular preparedness training.

Requires broad management and leadership knowledge to lead multiple Work Groups. Typically has master-level knowledge and skills within a specific technical or professional discipline with broad understanding of other areas within the job function.


Qualifications


Required Education

•

Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Health or a related field


Required Experience

•

Six years of workforce management experience including at least two years of supervisory experience

Equivalent education and experience are accepted
