Resolves escalated customer concerns and advances customer projects regulated by Wake County in a specialized area. Informs and guides customers in the preparation of various permits that may include building, mechanical, well water, wastewater, flood, erosion, swimming pool, food institution, safety, planning, and land disturbance. Makes determinations regarding whether applications and plans meet applicable ordinances, state statutes and federal laws. Understands complexities of customer demands and communicates options and implications of various ways to accomplish a customer's goals. Works across departments and jurisdictions to advance projects and communicate delicate information. | | | | | | | | |
Essential Functions | | | Priority | % Time | • | Resolves escalated complaints in area of specialization and mentors colleagues to enhance their skills and provide leadership on technical and regulatory complexities. Assesses, advises customers, and approves site plans and/or permit applications for conformance with local and state regulations, ordinances and general statutes for development or construction in conformance with local and state regulations, ordinances, and general statutes. | 1 | 45% | • | Issues permits following all local ordinances, State statutes and Federal laws. Ensures compliance with applicable policies in his/her specialization among workgroup. | 2 | 10% | • | Initiates the development of solutions to address customer challenges consistent with rules and regulations in area of specialization. Analyzes trends of customer complaints for the specialized area and identifies options for resolution. Works independently and in cross functional teams to evaluate options for process improvements, develop solutions, and document standards. | 3 | 30% | • | Researches and maintains records, performs data entry, reconciles revenues collected, and prepares deposit in accordance with county-wide procedures. | 4 | 10% | • | Tests and troubleshoots new versions of software and systems from a customer and internal perspective and provides feedback on technical, operational, and regulatory aspects. | 5 | 5% | | | | | | | |
