Primary Purpose

Lead and facilitate the strategic planning, implementation and evaluation of 4-H Youth programs aimed to engage and develop youth participants.  Collaborates across diverse multiple sectors to develop, track, and share collective initiatives aimed at achieving priority outcomes.  Engages community partners and stakeholders aligning efforts through strategic partnerships. Fosters a shared vision for community development and maximizing the impact of collaborative efforts across various sectors. Spearheads the development, guidance, and investment of staff and resources encompassing effective management strategies.

 

 

Essential Functions

Collaborates to establish, update and deploy resources in alignment with Department Business Plan aimed at achieving measurable results.  Establishes and maintains effective relationships with high-level strategic partners within University system, the Wake County leadership, and communities.

Ensures productivity, coaches & provides direct supervision to Wake County staff to support 4-H Youth efforts in the County.

Develops strategies that ensure coordination of community resources to increase access and utilization and to build the community's capacity to respond to critical needs.

Establishes business processes and protocols for the 4-H Program work that aligns with NC Cooperative Extension, and Wake County Government policies and protocols related to budget development, human resources, supervision, finance, contract management, resource development, and facilities management.

Covenes and facilitates shared decision-making, alignment of resources & shared measurement through collective impact to achieve 4-H Youth programs, to develop and maintain strong and effective community partnerships on behalf of Cooperative Extension and Wake County.

•

Represents County and Extension leadership, informs and shares ownership for collective impact initiatives alignment with 4-H.  Prepares and provides presentations and reports regularly to the Director, Dept leaders for Extension, the County Manager, and the Board of Commissioners.

Position(s) may perform other duties in addition to the above as assigned by management.

 

*IMPORTANT* In the event of an emergency, as determined by the County Manager or designee, participation in preparedness and response operations should be expected. Employee may be required to fill a temporary assignment in a role different from standard duties, work hours and/or work location in preparation for, during and after the emergency. Employee may also be required to participate in relevant exercises and regular preparedness training.
