Engaging in consultation or meetings with customer under difficult or contentious circumstances. Coaching and assisting staff with technical questions. Assisting in the development and implementation of activities relative to wastewater system design, permitting and construction. Providing wastewater managers with key technical support concerning wastewater system design problems. Assisting with process development suggestions with an objective of continuous improvement. Participate in inspections of sites and assets as needed for permit process completion. Coordinates and participates in O&M inspections of septic systems, and of public swimming pools. | | | | | | | | |
Essential Functions | | | Priority | % Time | • | Conduct review of plans with respect to various types of complex wastewater system design. Provide effective communication with staff, system designers, and customers regarding plan review comments and needed items to facilitate permit issuance. Maintain goals relating to review and permit issuance turnaround times. | 1 | 60% | • | Complete field work and permitting for Commercial Permit applications and Offsite Easement permit applications. | 2 | 15% | • | This position is expected to, along with OSWP supervisors, solve permitting workflow problems plus finding solutions for more seamless business interfaces with Permitting, Planning and IDPP thus creating a continuous improvement process. | 3 | 10% | • | Perform advanced wastewater system inspection with Wastewater Management program. Perform Type VI system State-mandated inspections. | 4 | 10% | • | Assist with pool inspections or other tasks, as needed for process improvement or emergency management. | 5 | 5% | | | | | | | |
Position(s) may perform other duties in addition to the above as assigned by management. | |
Additional Responsibilities | • | Inspect public swimming pools and issue pool operation permits. | | | |

Employee may be required to fill a temporary assignment in a role different from standard duties, work hours and/or work location in preparation for, during and after the emergency.
