Issues notices of violations if warranted. Documents actions and prepares reports or studies which could be used in court proceedings. Provides technical expertise and guidance to property owners and seeks corrective measures. Documents findings. Inspect public swimming pools and issue pool operation permits. | | | | | | | | |
Essential Functions | | | Priority | % Time | • | Performs wastewater complaint/repair request investigations, escalates some to code cases, and reviews design and permit repairs for systems when required. Conducts final inspections for repair system. Decides the level of public health risk associated these situations and acts accordingly. Shares information with management and contractors to resolve the problem in an appropriate way. | 1 | 60% | • | Applies effort to the projects that are associated with the greatest public health risk first, then works with other projects. Coordinates with management and contractors to make effective repairs and apply resources needed. | 2 | 15% | • | Implements enforcement actions, as needed, to achieve compliance with home owners. This may included working with legal staff to prepare for legal actions. | 3 | 10% | • | Conduct Operation and Maintenance (O&M) inspections for septic systems, as required under 15A NCAC 18E 1300. Completes inspections as needed to maximize productivity for the business unit to meet division/departmental goals. | 4 | 10% | • | Works within or beyond the inspections group to mentor and train new members or staff about techniques and methods to apply to get inspections and repairs completed effectively. | 5 | 5% | | | | | | | |

Employee may be required to fill a temporary assignment in a role different from standard duties, work hours and/or work location in preparation for, during and after the emergency.
